Job Description

DataAnnotation is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer - AI Trainer in Shreveport, LA for an onsite contract role. You will support AI development by creating and solving coding problems and by evaluating AI model outputs for quality and reliability.

This is an independent contractor position with flexible project selection and scheduling, focused on hands-on engineering work and structured feedback that improves future model performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and work with coding environments, unit tests, and verifiers.
  • Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems.
  • Write clear, high-quality code and technical explanations.
  • Evaluate model trajectories for accuracy, performance, readability, and best practices.
  • Identify bugs, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement in AI-generated solutions.
  • Provide structured feedback that helps improve the next generation of AI models.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, C#, C++, Go, Kotlin, Swift, or React.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including problem-solving, debugging, and code review.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress).
  • Previous experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer, Full-Stack Engineer, Front-End Engineer, Back-End Engineer, or similar technical role is preferred.
