Machine Learning Engineer (Clearance Sponsorship)

Chantilly, VA onsite; CACI seeks a Machine Learning Engineer with clearance sponsorship to design, deploy, and scale AI and ML solutions, including pipelines, APIs, and cloud-enabled LLM integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines and applications using Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Prototype and optimize algorithms to enable large language model integration and deployment.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices to serve ML models in production environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with object-oriented programming principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases to manage training data, model artifacts, and application state.
• Containerize ML applications with Docker to ensure consistent deployment across environments.
• Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality.
• Test and debug ML applications to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Support deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models in cloud environments.
• Stay current with advances in machine learning, LLMs, and AI engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related technical field, with 5 years of professional experience in software development or machine learning engineering.
• Strong Python proficiency with solid grounding in object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Git, Docker, and database management (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Familiarity with LLM technologies, including exposure to large language models and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Understanding of RAG architectures and vector databases (ChromaDB, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar) for building intelligent retrieval systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Pay range

The proposed salary range for this position is USD 113,200 - 237,800 per year.
