Job Description

In this onsite role at Contemporary Amperex Technology Kentucky LLC, you will help strengthen manufacturing performance through plant-level data management, analytics, and digital insights. You will connect data engineering work with plant operations and leadership so that dashboards and data solutions support decision-making tied to FPS performance pillars.

Working from Glendale, KY (onsite), you will manage production data systems, build descriptive and predictive reporting, and support secure, efficient data collection across departments.

Role overview

  • Enhance manufacturing performance by managing plant-level databases and creating dashboards and data solutions.
  • Bridge data engineering with plant operations and leadership to support actionable outcomes aligned to FPS performance pillars.
  • Provide insights tailored to different tiers of operations including Zone, Department, Plant, and Business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain production-related databases, including SQL, Oracle, and Hadoop.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and workflow structures for clarity and standardization.
  • Perform regular audits of databases, SharePoint environments, administrator accounts, and security groups.
  • Ensure database records match actual production data and system operations.
  • Support secure, efficient data collection across plant departments.
  • Design and develop descriptive and predictive dashboards using Power BI and other tools.
  • Build dynamic connections between local and enterprise databases to enable real-time visualization.
  • Propose and deploy visual management tools aligned with SQDCMEP performance targets.
  • Improve existing dashboard processes, enable automation, and support departments end to end.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify new data sources and translate them into business value.
  • Develop strategies to move data collection and workflows from PC-based approaches to factory-integrated solutions.
  • Lead or support development of local or national applications for data sharing and collaboration.
  • Administer and automate processes using SharePoint 365 and Power Automate.
  • Use agile methods to gather business requirements and rapidly prototype data solutions.
  • Communicate and promote data-driven processes that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Participate in initiatives that align plant operations with digital transformation objectives.
  • Ensure tools and dashboards support FPS performance pillars: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Maintenance, Environmental, People.
  • Collaborate with FPS Champions, Engineering, Operations, and IT to align solutions to standardized performance metrics and visual management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Power BI, as well as SharePoint 365 and Power Automate.
  • SQL and at least one programming language, with Python preferred (including Pandas, Scikit-learn, PySpark).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of OT/IT integration, industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT), and plant systems (MES, SCADA, Historians).
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and platforms such as Oracle and Hadoop.
  • Understanding of data governance, security protocols, and audit procedures.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing analytics, database management, or digital operations support.
  • Experience with cloud platforms for industrial data solutions (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Suite, GCP).
  • Familiarity with big data and orchestration technologies (Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow).
  • Proven track record in deploying predictive maintenance or process optimization models in production.
  • Knowledge of ISA-95 architecture and industrial data standards.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary: USD 80,000 - 130,000 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Work environment & physical requirements

  • Regular, predictable on-site attendance is an essential function.
  • Ability to move throughout offices, manufacturing facilities, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25–50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required.
  • Ability to work in varied environments including office, industrial, and construction settings.
