Operations Data Analyst
Job Description
Specialty Printing, LLC offers an onsite Operations Data Analyst role in Windsor, CT. This position supports Finance and leadership by developing and maintaining reporting, dashboards, and analysis focused on job-level production performance, costing, financial results, and labor metrics. It is a hands-on, reporting-focused role that emphasizes data interpretation and business partnership.
Compensation and location: USD 95,000 - 120,000 per year, on-site in Windsor, CT.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards for job-level profitability (standard vs. actual costing)
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards for production performance (throughput, scrap, efficiency)
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards for labor analytics (productivity, overtime, staffing levels)
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards for financial performance (monthly results, variance analysis, trend reporting)
- Support monthly close and management reporting with timely, accurate data outputs
- Analyze key drivers of financial performance (material usage and yield variances)
- Analyze key drivers of financial performance (labor efficiency and rate variances)
- Analyze key drivers of financial performance (overhead absorption and production volume impacts)
- Provide clear explanations of results to Finance and Operations leadership
- Extract and consolidate data from ERP, production systems, and other sources
- Perform data validation and reconciliations to ensure alignment with financial statements and cost accounting outputs
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies
- Respond to business questions with targeted analysis (e.g., job profitability issues, staffing optimization, cost drivers)
- Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations for management
- Build and maintain dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Excel-based solutions)
- Ensure reports are user-friendly, accurate, and aligned with business needs
- Support incremental improvements in reporting automation and efficiency
- Partner closely with Finance/Accounting (costing, close, forecasting)
- Partner closely with Operations/Plant leadership (production performance insights)
- Partner closely with HR (labor and staffing data)
- Help ensure consistent definitions and understanding of key performance metrics
Requirements
- 3β7 years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or business intelligence reporting
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
- Proven experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Experience working with ERP or accounting/production data
- Solid understanding of financial concepts (P&L, variances, costing basics)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
