Job Description

The Principal Data Scientist - AI Trainer position supports the evaluation and training of AI systems focused on quantitative analysis and scientific reasoning. This role is designed for remote collaboration with a flexible schedule, with work centered on reviewing AI-generated outputs and developing training materials that improve next-generation models.

Role Summary

In this role, you will assess AI-produced quantitative work for correctness and real-world validity, create quantitative problems for training and benchmarking, and provide feedback that informs model improvements. The work involves both analytical judgment and the ability to communicate methods clearly through documentation and code.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated quantitative outputs, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-driven insights, ensuring technical accuracy and practical validity.
  • Design and solve quantitative problems used to train and benchmark AI systems, covering areas such as forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
  • Produce clear technical explanations and well-documented analytical code.
  • Deliver feedback that directly influences the next generation of AI models for quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a quantitative role or research environment, including data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or a closely related field.
  • Some coding experience with comfort writing and reviewing analytical code end-to-end.
  • Practical experience applying statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experiment design, such as A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual) with strong writing ability.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar) is preferred. A master’s or PhD is a plus.
  • Relevant credentials are a plus, such as Kaggle Competition ranking or AWS/GCP ML certifications, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
