Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Data Analytics Engineer in Melbourne, FL (hybrid) to design and implement automated end-to-end ETL pipelines and analytics solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and advance analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes across multiple data sources.
- Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting, including star, snowflake, and data vault schemas.
- Implement robust data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliable downstream insights.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into technical specifications.
- Create reusable, documented analytics libraries and SDKs to accelerate self-service analytics.
- Apply version control, testing, and CI/CD practices to data workflows.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to the analytics stack.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, KPI scorecards, and ad-hoc querying tools for executive and operational audiences.
Requirements
- A STEM bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, or a master's degree with 3 years in related fields.
- A STEM bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, or a master's degree with 6 years in related fields.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience developing and deploying Tableau dashboards and translating business needs into visual insights.
- Experience with version control and Agile software development.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Active US Government Secret clearance required to apply, with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances.
