Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Data Analytics Engineer in Melbourne, FL (hybrid) to design and implement automated end-to-end ETL pipelines and analytics solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and advance analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes across multiple data sources.
  • Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting, including star, snowflake, and data vault schemas.
  • Implement robust data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliable downstream insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into technical specifications.
  • Create reusable, documented analytics libraries and SDKs to accelerate self-service analytics.
  • Apply version control, testing, and CI/CD practices to data workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to the analytics stack.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, KPI scorecards, and ad-hoc querying tools for executive and operational audiences.

Requirements

  • A STEM bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, or a master's degree with 3 years in related fields.
  • A STEM bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, or a master's degree with 6 years in related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience developing and deploying Tableau dashboards and translating business needs into visual insights.
  • Experience with version control and Agile software development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active US Government Secret clearance required to apply, with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances.

Salary Ranges

  • Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
  • Secondary level salary range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
