Job Description

Build reliable data foundations for reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence use cases while working with Deloitte’s AI & Data team. This onsite Project Data Engineer II role supports professional project delivery work and includes a competitive benefits package designed for project-focused professionals.

Location: Boston, MA (onsite). Compensation: USD 71,300 - 140,600 per year.

What you’ll do

As a Project Data Engineer II, you will design, develop, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines and support production data assets across environments. Your work will help teams deliver client objectives by strengthening ETL processes, enabling data integration, and improving data reliability.

  • Design, develop, and maintain batch and streaming pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases
  • Build and optimize ETL processes using SQL, Python, and data engineering frameworks
  • Integrate data from structured and unstructured sources across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Support data quality activities including validation, monitoring, and issue resolution for production data assets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data models, improve platform performance, and support client delivery objectives

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field
  • 0-2 years of experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • 1+ years of experience in ETL architecture and development
  • 1+ years of experience using Python and SQL to build or support data pipelines
  • 1+ years working with relational database management systems
  • Ability to travel 0-10% on average, based on the work and client needs
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
