Senior Data Analyst - Global Payment Network
Job Description
Capital One is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to help shape and maintain well-managed data solutions that support business decision-making. In this onsite role in Houston, TX, you will apply innovation and analytics to deliver insights, improve data quality, and enable data consumers through self-service capabilities.
What you’ll do
- Use open source and digital technologies to mine complex, high-volume data from varied sources and platforms
- Build data solutions, tools, and capabilities that support self-service frameworks for data consumers
- Learn and apply new technologies quickly to advance a range of initiatives
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insight and data visualization
- Conduct analysis that informs business strategies
- Apply data quality management principles, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions
- Collaborate with appropriate tech teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance
- Build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline) plus at least 2 years of experience performing data analytics, or a Master’s Degree with the expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date
- Scripting experience in Python, R, Spark, and SQL
- Experience with data in various forms, including data warehouses/SQL and unstructured data
- Experience utilizing and developing within Snowflake services
- At least 1 year of experience working with at least one scripting language
- At least 1 year of experience using a business intelligence visualization tool
- At least 1 year of experience querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms

Compensation
Houston, TX (onsite): USD 101,100 - 115,400 per year.

Preferred qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics discipline
- At least 2 years of experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL
- At least 2 years of experience working with process management and improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- At least 1 year of experience utilizing and developing within AWS services
- At least 1 year of experience demonstrating knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts, and data quality tools (for example, Informatica DQ)
