Senior Data Analytics Engineer - Remote

This is a remote Senior Data Analytics Engineer role based in Eden Prairie, MN, supporting Optum's Fraud Retrospective Product within the Optum Payment Integrity organization. The position offers an annual salary range of USD 91,700 to 163,700, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide realistic effort estimates and project timelines for development and support initiatives.
• Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical designs and documentation.
• Build analytics processes aligned with established standard structures and macros.
• Develop solutions suitable for production deployment.
• Perform data extraction and research studies, including analysis, review, trend assessment, and presentation of findings to support ad hoc data requests per specifications.
• Collaborate with business engagement leaders and technical analysts to create new or update existing process documentation and templates.
• Analyze data elements within current source data mart schemas.
• Examine healthcare claim data from multiple sources to identify data integrity issues.
• Conduct unit, system, and regression testing to ensure quality.
• Tune performance of existing applications and analytic workflows.
• Provide guidance to developers to enhance efficiency and coding practices.
• Share knowledge on technologies and serve as a technical expert within the team.
• Lead and mentor both new and existing team members.
• Continuously identify production process deficiencies, propose improvements, and implement enhancements to boost productivity or reduce manual effort.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience with SAS.
• Three or more years of relational database experience with Oracle, Teradata, MySQL, or Snowflake.
• Three or more years of experience in analysis, process improvement, problem solving, and critical thinking.
