Senior Data Engineer

Peraton is building and supporting a suite of web-based applications that help automate compliant data management and movement for IC data custodians. In this Senior Data Engineer role, you will design and implement data engineering solutions that standardize data flows across multiple concurrent data sets, enabling ingestion into customer corporate repositories and supporting reliable routing implementations.

This onsite position is based in Annapolis Junction, MD. The target salary range is USD 176,000 - 282,000 per year, with potential eligibility for additional compensation as described in the posting details.

About the Role

The team supports products that capture information and approvals to enable compliant movement of data through the customer mission space. These products are intended to standardize and simplify data movement, data reuse, and integration with downstream tools.

Responsibilities

• Outline, develop, and implement data engineering solutions.
• Work with numerous concurrent IC-provided data sets to identify, map, and model transformation routines that support ingestion into customer corporate repositories.
• Document data flows and routing implementations, covering both new and existing data flows across concurrent data sets.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with current polygraph required.
• Twenty (20) years of experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Working knowledge of smart data systems and entitlements.
• Experience with current and evolving agency dataflow and reporting solutions.
• Experience developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.
• Experience leading agile development models.
• Experience integrating COTS and GOTS products from multiple vendors.
• Experience developing and deploying storage within clustered or cloud environments.
• Experience planning and integrating secure compliant solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives.
• Working knowledge of NiFi; comfort working in a Linux environment; ability to interact with data ontologies (schemas) and structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON); database experience (MySQL/NoSQL); and analytic query experience with a platform.

• Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000.
• Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
