ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Design, implement and operate security controls for BD's Databricks baseline data platforms, including workspace configuration, identity integration, cluster policies, and access controls.
- Own platform level monitoring and alerting for security posture, access activity, code changes, job execution and cluster performance.
- Partner with the platform reliability team to secure, resilient and scalable operations of workloads across development, test and production environments.
- Define and govern Scrum processes across businesses and regions, leading cross functional forums to track delivery progress and resolve escalations.
- Promote a data as a product mindset, enabling governed, reusable data assets across the enterprise.
- Establish standards for data modeling, contextualization, quality, lineage, and observability across complex datasets to drive actionable insights in plant operations, logistics, quality and inventory flows.
- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and a repository for Databricks code deployment, with automation of metadata logs for future Platform AI initiatives.
- Support Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, AzureOps, Data Asset Bundles or similar tools.
- Contribute to automation and branching strategies for repeatable tasks to improve efficiency.
- Engineer policy as code, automated security checks and compliance validation integrated into the software delivery lifecycle.
- Lead End to End Analytics Process Governance and Management, including opportunity identification, development, implementation, change management and competency.
- Contribute to the evolution of the organization's data governance framework as it relates to cloud data platforms, analytics, AI and ML ecosystem.
- Provide technical guidance to data engineers, platform teams and solution developers on secure platform usage and DevSecOps best practices.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and alerts to report on platform security posture compliance coverage.
- Participate in vendor assessments and contract reviews to ensure third party data processors meet compliance standards.
- Build and lead high performing teams of data architects and analysts, driving cross functional collaboration and enterprise data strategy.
- Provide direction, mentorship and performance management for data teams, ensuring disciplined execution across resources, budgets and timelines.
- Develop a governance playbook defining clear roles, responsibilities and processes in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders.
- Build and lead an enterprise generative AI practice, spanning use case delivery, talent development, platform and vendor strategy, and governance in partnership with Legal, Supply Chain, Operations and business stakeholders.
- Drive Agile Methodology to balance portfolio across Business, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Identify key analytics and KPIs for effective Scrum execution while building capabilities with global and regional analytics teams.
- Collaborate with legal, IT, information security, business units and other functions to integrate privacy by design and security by design into data platform development.
- Oversee data access controls, data retention policies, data anonymization and other security measures across storage and processing environments.
- Lead responses to data privacy inquiries, data subject access requests and potential data breaches, coordinating across functions for timely resolution.
- Stay current with evolving data privacy laws and industry standards to strengthen the organization’s compliance posture.
- Evaluate cost implications of new technologies, define the analytics roadmap and manage vendor transitions and training.
- Set up, lead and coach the data team to deliver high impact solutions for BD.
- Lead talent screening and hiring, including campus recruiting, to build a sustainable analytics talent pipeline.
- Drive training, mentoring and career development to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities while fostering a high performance culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, Business Administration, or related field; master's degree or certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CISM, or CISSP are preferred.
- Hands-on experience securing and operating modern data platforms including Databricks, cloud data lakes, data warehouses, streaming and big data platforms.
- Experience with event driven or state based orchestration or near real time architecture.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform.
- Practical knowledge of cloud security fundamentals such as IAM, network security and encryption, secrets management and logging/monitoring.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Typically 5 to 8 years of experience in cloud data privacy, compliance, information security, or related field, with at least 3 to 5 years focused on data platform compliance or data governance.
