World Wide Technology Holding, LLC offers a remote Senior Data Engineer position within the IT Analytics Delivery group, focusing on data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models that empower data driven decision making across the business. Location: Remote with a strong preference for St. Louis, Missouri. Domestic and international travel up to 10% may be required. This role requires permanent US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with solution architects and data scientists within a cross functional IT Analytics Delivery group to tackle a broad set of business problems.
- Architect and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes, build integrations, and develop complex data models to support data driven decisions across all functions.
- Independently manage all phases of the data engineering lifecycle and gain subject matter expertise across business domains.
- Apply technical expertise to solve complex business problems and communicate effectively with business stakeholders to drive project success.
- Mentor team members and support analytics partners embedded in the business with data for analysts across the company.
- Act as a collaborative, equal member of a cohesive, selfless team, taking ownership to exceed customer expectations.
- Work closely with analysts, developers, and data architects to ensure development meets requirements and delivers optimal performance.
- Consult on the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance star schema and other data structures.
- Lead end to end data warehouse projects in a big data environment and provide production support across multiple reporting tools.
- Operate in an agile team, planning, designing, testing, and coordinating end to end delivery of solutions.
- Design, create, and implement complex data models (canonical, conceptual, logical, physical) and explore new design methodologies.
- Build, scale, and maintain data infrastructure and data products; tune physical database models and SQL performance.
- Leverage ANSI SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis; develop and optimize data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources using SQL and big data technologies.
- Collaborate within matrix based, geographically distributed project teams to deliver results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, SQL, and/or ETL development; proficiency in data warehousing, BI development, and data modeling.
- 5+ years building large scale data sources in Oracle or an equivalent relational database.
- 3+ years of experience with API platforms such as MuleSoft or APIGee and ELT platforms like Matillion or Informatica.
- Strong SQL skills with PL/SQL development experience; hands on experience with an ETL tool (Oracle Data Integrator preferred).
- Experience with Oracle Cloud reporting and data replication tools (BI Cloud Connector Console, BI Publisher, OTBI preferred).
- Analytical and problem solving capabilities; experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Understanding of analytics platforms, data stores (RDMS, flat files, columnar DBs), and dimensional modeling, data lakes, and data vault concepts.
- Experience with cloud environments and cloud data warehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.) and MS Power Platform; Azure experience is a plus.
- Ability to design data architecture and pipelines, perform performance tuning and debugging, and work in a fast paced environment focused on customer satisfaction.
- Travel up to 10% (domestic and international).
