Senior Data Scientist - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation invites applications for a contract Senior Data Scientist - AI Trainer. The role focuses on evaluating AI generated quantitative work and providing feedback to shape AI model reasoning, with remote, flexible scheduling available. The position is based in North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Assess AI generated quantitative outputs across statistical analyses, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-driven insights for technical accuracy and practical validity.
• Design and solve quantitative tasks used to train and benchmark AI systems in areas such as forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Produce clear technical explanations and maintain well-documented analytical code.
• Deliver feedback that guides the development of AI models focused on quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a quantitative role or research setting, including data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, or operations research.
• Demonstrated coding experience with the ability to write and review analytical code from end to end.
• Hands-on experience with statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experimental design such as A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
• Fluency in English with strong writing skills at native or bilingual level.
• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is preferred; advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are advantageous.
• Relevant credentials, such as high Kaggle competition rankings or cloud ML certifications from AWS or GCP, are a plus.
