Senior Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Own the full machine learning lifecycle on real medical-device and robotics/automation applications, from sensor data to models running on constrained hardware. This onsite role in Boston, MA 02116 is hands-on (100% hands on) and built around close collaboration across embedded/firmware/software teams, with a strong focus on MLOps, validation, and documentation that supports regulatory-ready work.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and troubleshoot workflows for collecting, cleaning, and organizing sensor data so it is ready for model development and evaluation.
- Build and refine ML models for real-time device applications, targeting both performance improvements and reliable operation.
- Partner with firmware teams to embed and test AI features on hardware platforms.
- Set up and oversee tools for experiment tracking, automate evaluations, and manage deployments.
- Analyze model behavior, ensure reliability, and resolve issues to maintain high-quality outputs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience deploying models to edge using TFLite, ONNX, CoreML, TensorRT, or an equivalent stack.
- Experience building sensor data pipelines.
- Proficiency with MLOps.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency with C or C++.
Helpful experience
- Experience with physiological signal processing for medical or wearable applications.
- Background in robotics or autonomous systems.
- Experience in a startup or small team.
- A degree in a relevant field.
