Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Liine is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help expand and scale its data analytics and marketing analytics platforms. In this role, you will build scalable machine learning infrastructure and develop NLP and LLM-based systems, working closely with engineering and product to turn models into features that deliver measurable value.

This position is based in Raleigh, NC (hybrid), with a focus on integrating ML platforms with backend services and shaping how the ML systems evolve over time. A minimum of 3 years of machine learning experience is required.

What you’ll do

• Research, develop, evaluate, deploy, and monitor scalable ML platforms and pipelines
• Build and maintain NLP systems, including training and fine-tuning language models, entity resolution tools, and LLM-based classification systems
• Review code and reinforce software development best practices within Liine’s standard SDLC
• Integrate and update backend APIs, microservices, and data pipelines to connect ML platforms
• Contribute to machine learning strategy, model architecture, and team practices as ML systems and the team grow
• Collaborate with engineering and product to deliver machine learning features that create real value

What you bring

• 3+ years of machine learning experience
• Using AI tools as a core part of how you build, as a default approach
• Proficiency in Python and key data science libraries (including NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch)
• Ability to prototype solutions for novel, open-ended problems and convert them into reliable systems
• Experience deploying machine learning into production environments through MLOps / ModelOps
• Knowledge of feature engineering, feature selection, and model architecture design
• Experience working with large distributed systems and data pipelines
• Approach to problem-solving that includes having fun while tackling hard problems
• Comfort working in a high-output, high-excitement environment
• Strong attention to detail and clear, honest communication

Hybrid work details

• Candidates who can work from the downtown Raleigh office are preferred, though exceptional remote applications will be considered
• On-site schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
