Job Description
Peraton is hiring a Senior Software Data Engineer to support an enterprise-wide engineering contract within the Intelligence Community.
- Location: Laurel, MD (onsite) (Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD)
- Salary: USD 176,000 - 282,000 per yearly
- Experience level: Minimum 14 years
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements
- Review and test software components to confirm adherence to design requirements
- Document software test results
- Use software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment
- Provide input to system design components, including the use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards
- Confer with users or system engineers to analyze usage and work processes and investigate problem areas
Requirements
- Education and experience combination (choose one):
- PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university plus 14 years of Software Engineering experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university plus 17 years of Software Engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university plus 19 years of Software Engineering experience
- High School Diploma or GED plus 20 years of Software Engineering experience
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using Open Stack and other comparable platforms
- Strong Linux and Python background
- Understanding of IT management and operations
- Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Individual Capabilities / Experience Desired
- Excellent oral, written, organizational, and communications skills
- Broad experience in system engineering disciplines
- Software development and experience in Develop Operations
- Experience using network automation tools
- Familiarity with cloud security and operations
- PowerShell familiarity
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect a plus
