Job Description
Intuit is seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist to support the QuickBooks Money and Money Data Science efforts. This role develops insights and predictive capabilities to strengthen customer segmentation and experimentation, helping shape product strategy and go-to-market for a strategic growth priority.
Role Overview
Intuit’s Global Business Solutions Group (GBSG) focuses on providing tools and services that improve how small-medium businesses (SMBs) manage cash flow. Within this mission, the QuickBooks Money team builds tools that help customers get paid faster and with confidence. The Money Data Science team, part of GBSG Data & Analytics, delivers customer-focused experiences and business impact by partnering on insights, models, and strategic analytics thought. Cross-functional collaboration includes Product Management, Commercial, Finance, Business Operations, Design, and Engineering, using data analysis, experimentation, and predictive analytics to support data-driven decisions. As a founding Senior Staff Data Scientist, you will use deep data analysis to uncover actionable insights and recommendations that support growth for a new strategic product priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities, translate them into hypotheses and goals, define key metrics, and deliver actionable recommendations
- Develop strategic insights that influence the future of Money-movement ecosystem products at Intuit, impacting millions of small businesses
- Build predictive models, conduct experimentation beyond A/B testing, and produce actionable customer insights that guide product innovation
- Create and apply durable customer segmentation patterns to improve targeting, positioning, and customer experience
- Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Design, and Analytics leaders to deliver insights that inform product strategy and growth
- Communicate complex findings into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 10+ years of experience in data science or product analytics, preferably in fintech, with strong grounding in predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and experimentation
- Ability to formulate data-backed strategies aimed at step-function business growth and increased customer benefit
- Experience generating hypotheses based on customer behavior, industry trends, and external market factors; fintech or SMB experience is highly preferred
- Experience designing and interpreting complex experiments beyond traditional A/B testing methods
- Proven ability to build reusable and scalable analytics solutions with an emphasis on efficiency and avoiding duplication
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence decision makers and build consensus across teams
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and work independently or in a team
- Experience applying statistics and machine learning to go-to-market and marketing problems, including examples such as propensity for feature adoption, customer health scoring for churn risk, and next best action models
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with visualization tools including Qlik, Tableau, and Plotly Dash
- Strong analytical and modeling skills using Python, including libraries such as numpy, pandas, and scikit-learn
- Familiarity with Linux/OS X command line, git, and general software development
- Experience addressing growth-related problems at financial technology companies serving consumer or SMBs
- Familiarity with Generative AI and other evolving technologies to accelerate insights from multi-modal data

Location and Compensation
Location: Mountain View, CA (onsite).
Salary: USD 210,500 - 284,500 per year.
