Job Description

The Senior Analytics Engineer at Health Care Service Corporation designs and builds data integrations to deliver Enterprise BI Data Marts and BI semantic data layers, constructs end-to-end data pipelines, and supports multiple projects within the DAS organization. This hybrid position is based in Richardson, TX with opportunities in Chicago, IL. Salary range: USD 92,700 - 167,500 per yearly.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data integrations to deliver Enterprise BI Data Marts and BI Semantic Data Layer(s).
  • Design and develop end-to-end data integration pipelines.
  • Manage multiple projects within the Enterprise Business Analytics and BI team and provide support to others within the DAS organization.
  • Contribute to HCSC and DAS initiatives to improve data processes, technology infrastructure, and reporting/analytic services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience, or nine years of equivalent experience with data integration platforms.
  • Strong technical experience in Business Intelligence Architecture and technologies.
  • Experience working with a data architecture team to develop or manage a universal semantic model.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to design and develop data products solutions to enable insights.
  • Experience working with Hadoop stack such as HDFS, Hive, Spark, PySpark/Python, Sqoop.
  • Experience working with MPP platforms like Teradata BTEQ, SQL, T-SQL, etc.
  • Experience working with Azure, ADLS, ADF, Azure SQL, etc.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, continuous deployment, and integration processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M.
  • Avid learner with the ability to gain a solid understanding of available data and promote innovative insights.
  • Strong analytical, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to source, interpret, and present analytics in a thoughtful and meaningful manner.
  • Proactive self-starter, quick learner, flexible team-player, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain strong attention to detail, and prioritize work within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare sector experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Power BI semantic model
  • Understanding of Databricks Assistant or Git Copilot will be helpful
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources
