Sr Data Analyst
Job Description
Sr Data Analyst role in Aflac’s Digital Services division focused on analytical research, reporting, modeling, and analytics tool development for actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Conduct organizational research by gathering, interpreting, and comparing operational data to benchmarking and best-practice sources
- Identify significant business issues, trends, and opportunities; provide insights and recommendations to the organization
- Build tactical reporting and analysis frameworks covering performance across at least three business areas
- Develop and maintain mathematical modeling tools for internal business areas
- Lead special projects requiring advanced analytical expertise and produce executive-level presentations
- Define and implement appropriate measures and reports to assess organizational performance and initiative performance
- Stay current on software and tools used to build reports and run analyses efficiently
- Collaborate with peer teams on the architecture, development, and deployment of analytics tools that support efficient discovery of actionable insights
- Perform deep data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights related to Client program performance, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness
- Mentor and support the development and training of analysts across US Analytics and other internal business areas
- Support strategic efforts and business planning through metric gathering, analysis, and deliverable tracking
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to mentor and train analysts and business partners on analytical methods, tools, reports, and data
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal) for interactions with all management levels while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of business operations and the insurance industry
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines
- SQL, Python, and DataViz are a plus but not required

Remote Work Expectations
- This role is remote and you will work from home within the continental US
- Occasional office visits may be requested based on business need

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of job-related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience (Preferred)
- Successful analytical work supporting business requirements, potentially including predictive analytics
- Operations experience

Total Rewards
- Salary range: $70,000 - $105,000 per year
- Compensation depends on factors including education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation
- Typically, hiring at or near the top of the range is not standard to support future salary growth
- The range does not include potential incentive pay or benefits, which are provided separately when appropriate
