Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug others’ code to improve reliability and maintainability.
  • Drive decisions that affect product design, application functionality, and operational processes across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more focus areas such as public cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure as code.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve team capability and delivery consistency.
  • Influence peers and project stakeholders to adopt leading engineering practices and technologies that improve measurable outcomes.
  • Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams, including AI-assisted code review and refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident root-cause analysis; establish measurable validation standards and promote reuse.
  • Apply knowledge of tools in the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to scale automation value.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience, including 2+ years leading engineers to plan, deliver, and resolve complex technical items in your domain.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and production operations for distributed services.

  • Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns, with experience implementing modular monolith and microservices architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience using approved AI-assisted software development tools (such as coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting) and the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; includes experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
