Amigo is seeking a Staff Applied AI Engineer on site in New York, NY, with a salary range of USD 240,000 - 300,000 per year.

Lead an AI deployment for a major healthcare customer from initial discussions through production rollout
Turn an ambiguous customer need into a clear technical plan with defined owners and timelines
Define the architecture and engineering standards the team will implement
Make tradeoff calls about what to build now, what to reuse, and when to push back
Grow the engineers around you and raise the performance bar for the team
Work directly with customers to keep scope, timelines, and quality aligned

Has led significant end to end engineering work as a tech lead, staff engineer, or engineering manager
Has broken hard, ambiguous problems into work others can own and deliver
Has real experience with LLMs and agent systems, or the depth to reach it quickly
Has the judgment to make tradeoffs and the standing to say no when something does not hold up
Leads through architecture, through people, or both
Low ego, direct communication, and high personal and team standards
Ability to work onsite in New York City or San Francisco

Experience in a regulated or high reliability domain such as healthcare, finance, or legal
Experience shipping production AI or ML systems
Background in customer facing or forward deployed engineering
Experience growing engineers or running a small team
