Job Description

DataAnnotation offers a Staff Data Scientist - AI Trainer role that focuses on evaluating quantitative work, crafting training problems, and providing feedback to guide AI reasoning, with remote, flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assess AI generated quantitative outputs across statistical analyses, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data driven insights for technical accuracy and real world validity, verifying methods and assumptions.
  • Design and solve quantitative tasks used to train and benchmark AI systems, spanning forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization problems, and statistical inference workflows.
  • Produce clear technical explanations and well documented analytical code, including reproducible notebooks and accompanying documentation.
  • Deliver actionable feedback that informs iterative improvement of AI models focused on quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a quantitative role or research environment, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or closely related fields.
  • Experience writing and reviewing end-to-end analytical code, with comfort in scripting, data manipulation, and reproducibility practices.
  • Hands-on experience applying statistical methods, building predictive models, and designing experiments (A/B tests, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, time-series forecasting).
  • Fluency in English with strong written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; Master's or PhD is a plus.
  • Relevant credentials are advantageous, such as Kaggle competition rankings, AWS or GCP ML certifications, or other demonstrated expertise.
