Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic Systems

Based in Mountain View, CA, this onsite role at ServiceNow invites you to shape enterprise AI agents on the agent lab team. You will work on scalable AI agents, memory, orchestration, and end-to-end integration with Moveworks and ServiceNow, helping enterprises automate and improve workflows. You will collaborate with experts across product, security, UX, and customer success, and you will mentor teammates while driving meaningful roadmap decisions.

Responsibilities

• Address challenging engineering problems to build and evolve reliable AI agent systems that perform well in production
• Implement frontier AI algorithms and architectures and scale them for production use
• Leverage advances in machine learning, LLMs, and AI agents to enhance products and deliver strong user experiences
• Contribute to the roadmap and drive the evolution of engineering areas with growing scope and impact to create lasting value for customers
• Write robust, extensible, readable, and performant code
• Collaborate with machine learning, security, product, user experience, and customer success experts to build a leading enterprise AI product
• Mentor other engineers on building, maintaining, and evolving high-quality software
• Collaborate with fellow ML engineers to learn, share, and build world-class AI systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and improving production systems, ideally at scale
• Ability to clearly think and communicate about complex engineering problems and systems
• Comfort giving and receiving feedback and holding yourself and others to a high standard of operational excellence
• Ready to work in a Mac development environment, with proficiency in Python, Golang, and/or Java
• Desire to ship at a startup pace with a strong sense of ownership
• Attention to detail
• Drive to ship product improvements with production-grade code
• High motivation for continuous, incremental wins and solving challenging projects quickly
• Curiosity about engineering beyond immediate discipline and a continual desire to stay at the cutting edge of applied AI
