Statistical Programmer/ Data Analyst
Job Description
Hybrid in Somerville, MA with a regular, day shift schedule (40 hours/week). The General Hospital Corporation supports your growth in real-world data work by partnering you with senior analysts and biostatisticians on study monitoring, reporting, and manuscript preparation. You will help keep analysis processes accurate, reproducible, and well-documented while working with clinical investigators across the research lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Write and run basic queries as needed to support reporting and study workflows.
- Assist in maintaining existing reporting systems and help design, maintain, and distribute reports with senior analysts.
- Contribute to presentations for key stakeholders and support ongoing analysis activities.
- Learn and apply leading practice analysis methodologies as you build proficiency in performance monitoring and forecasting.
- Conduct continuous analysis of current performance and accurately forecast data trends.
- Create and run data reports for study monitoring boards, including tables, figures, and listings.
- Collaborate with clinical investigators and senior project biostatisticians to prepare tables and figures for study manuscripts, including assistance with manuscript review and validation of data abstraction.
- Develop code for reports used in study management, including reporting for data querying and cleaning, study monitoring, and data quality checks.
- Resolve data query issues with study coordinators.
- Develop specifications based on study protocols, write code to calculate derived variables, and collaborate with statisticians to cross-check and update code.
- Write code to extract data from Electronic Data Capture Systems (EDC) and maintain internal data files for reporting and analysis.
- Provide user support for EDC systems for site coordinators and study investigators, including development of training materials and collaboration to resolve EDC data queries.
- Generate custom and/or deidentified datasets for data repositories, ancillary studies, and/or public distribution.
- Collaborate with statistical programmers and statisticians to maintain a code base, and create and maintain documentation of datasets and data processes.
- Work on optimization and automation of coding, reports, and data processes.
- Perform other duties as needed to support MGH Biostatistics.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Analytics or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study. Experience: Data analysis experience 0-1 year preferred. Degree flexibility: Yes, the position can accept experience in lieu of a degree.
