As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, Staff- Level 4, you will design, develop, and deploy end-to-end AI and ML systems, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure AI work aligns with stakeholder goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement complete AI and ML systems from concept to deployment
  • Partner with Supplier Quality teams to support new feature development, offering technical guidance on integrating AI systems
  • Engage with stakeholders to capture and prioritize needs for AI system enhancements and new features
  • Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and testing to ensure robust AI tools and toolsets
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and apply insights to improve SQM toolsets and systems
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and quality engineers to tackle complex problems and identify high-value AI use cases
  • Work with internal teams to ensure AI systems comply with Lockheed Martin Proprietary Information sensitivity requirements
  • Lead small cross-functional project teams to drive AI projects
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and best practices for enterprise AI adoption
  • Document and share best practices with the AI/ML community

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn
  • Experience deploying large language models, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, or AI agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI)
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts including deep learning frameworks and tools
  • Experience with pipeline automation tools like GitLab
  • Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for explaining complex AI/ML concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience delivering end-to-end AI systems with limited supervision
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment

  • Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules, ranging from standard 40 hours over five days to condensed schedules that provide additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, 3 days off per week
