AI Specialist III – Generative AI / Agentic AI Engineer

Strategic Staffing Solutions is hiring a Generative AI / Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and maintain AI-powered applications that turn prompts into code, data pipelines, and web applications. This contract role is based in Charlotte, NC (hybrid) and emphasizes hands-on generative AI development, including agent implementations with Amazon Bedrock.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications that generate code, data pipelines, and web applications using generative AI and agentic technologies.
• Integrate generative AI solutions to support operational efficiency and improve customer experience.
• Apply software design principles and established patterns to produce clean, maintainable, modular, and scalable code.
• Build and implement AI agents, including solutions leveraging Amazon Bedrock.
• Experiment with and implement LLM-based agentic technologies to expand application capabilities.
• Use unit testing frameworks to support code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to enable adoption of AI-powered tools.
• Develop solutions in alignment with established AI policies.
• Conduct research and development on emerging technologies, including blockchain and quantum computing.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree (as specified).
• 6–8 years of software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience implementing generative AI solutions.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with the ability to learn new frameworks quickly.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents using Amazon Bedrock.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, modular code development, and application design.
• Experience writing maintainable, testable code.

Location, Employment Type, and Pay

This is a contract position based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid work setup. The stated pay rate is USD 130 per hour.

Assessment Requirement
