Analytics Data Engineer

The Analytics Data Engineer will support a Federal government client, designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and analytics solutions using Databricks and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the data solutions architect to define a data platform strategy.
• Apply technical expertise to design, develop, implement, and test diverse data pipelines.
• Work with teammates to design, document, and enforce a data development lifecycle that ensures consistency using Databricks and cloud tooling.
• Analyze data sources, participate in requirements gathering, and provide guidance on data technology and modeling best practices.
• Utilize knowledge of data models, relationships, lineage, and business rules to ensure solutions meet operational and business needs.
• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and systems in Databricks, integrating CI/CD to continuously improve deliverables.
• Establish an authoritative Lakehouse within the Analytics Platform to organize data required for post-award reporting and monitoring.
• Refresh and refine existing dashboards and analytics products including program financials, risk management, and customer engagement.
• Leverage advanced analytics, including LLMs and AI, to analyze unstructured program data, reduce manual review of post-award submissions, help detect fraud, waste and abuse, and inform project management decisions.
• Identify automation opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, business analytics, information systems management, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Six or more years of experience in a data engineering or related role.
• Experience designing and building scalable ETL pipelines from diverse data sources.
• Proficiency with Python, PySpark, and SQL for data manipulation and cleaning.
• Track record of developing automation scripts to streamline data processing tasks.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining data storage systems such as data warehouses and data lakes.
• Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain public trust clearance or suitability.

About the role

As an Analytics Data Engineer supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to provide data-driven insights that improve grant program outcomes.

Location

The position is remote and you will collaborate with a dynamic team. Occasionally, work at the client site may be required based on contract needs.

Salary

Approximate annual salary: USD 100,000 - 120,000.
