Job Description

Verse Medical seeks an Analytics Engineer to bridge data engineering and analytics, building scalable analytic layers that support operations, product, revenue cycle, and go-to-market initiatives. The role ensures data is reliable, accessible, and actionable across the organization, and leads the evolution of production data products.

Responsibilities

  • Create clean, scalable data models that underpin business operations, executive reporting, and advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to translate business challenges into robust, scalable data solutions.
  • Establish a semantic layer, define documentation standards, and implement data freshness SLAs.
  • Maintain data accuracy, quality, and governance through observability, governance practices, and monitoring.
  • Enhance data architecture and storage to boost performance, reduce costs, and optimize both batch and real-time workflows.
  • Contribute to PHI-adjacent modeling work with governance-minded data separation practices.
  • Own the reliability and evolution of production data products, guiding initiatives from concept through delivery.
  • Operate with initiative and autonomy in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering, or analytics roles with strong dbt ownership.
  • Deep dbt proficiency, including ownership of project structure, source definitions, test coverage, documentation, and change management.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with a track record of building complex, high-performance queries.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack tools including cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Proven ability to design, build, and scale end-to-end data infrastructure, including pipelines, schemas, dimensional models, analytics layers, and ML-ready datasets.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, governance, privacy, and observability best practices.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: Experience leading full-stack data architecture and making strategic data platform decisions.
  • Preferred: Experience with data platform and business intelligence migrations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare or other regulated data, including HIPAA compliance.
