Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Purple Carrot is looking for an Analytics Engineer to help the Data team build and maintain resilient, scalable data pipelines and company-wide data infrastructure. This role centers on enabling analytics through the modern data stack, turning business data needs into dependable, well-documented data products.
Based in a hybrid setup, the position supports data systems and analytics work across defined workstreams in an established data framework, with close collaboration alongside a Senior Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners.
What you’ll do
- Lead and contribute to end-to-end data pipeline and infrastructure work, from ingestion through transformation and analytics.
- Develop, test, and optimize data models and data warehouse architecture with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Maintain data quality through validation, monitoring, testing, and strong documentation.
- Implement and uphold data governance, including data dictionaries, lineage, access controls, and clear ownership of business logic.
- Build and maintain BI dashboards and reporting tools to support performance visibility and data-informed decisions.
- Support occasional ad hoc and exploratory analysis to answer business questions and spot trends.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, reporting logic, and key data definitions.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners to execute work within the established data framework.
- Assist with additional ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
What you bring
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the data space as a senior data analyst, data analyst, analytics engineer, data engineer, or equivalent.
- A Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to commute to the Dedham, MA office 3 days per week.
- Proficiency in SQL and dbt for data transformation, automation, and modeling.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using modern data stack tools such as Git, dbt, Stitch, cloud data warehouses, or similar.
- Strong background in data quality assurance, data governance frameworks, and documentation best practices.
- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, Omni, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while collaborating closely with a senior team member.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.

Special focus: Prior experience supporting or working in a B2C subscription business model is a plus. You should also be comfortable executing independently within an established data framework, translating business questions into clear and scalable data solutions, and taking pride in documentation and process improvement.
Location: This hybrid role supports Dedham, MA or Chicago, IL, with an approach of 3 days in-office each week. Salary range is USD 90,000 - 100,000 per year.
