Job Description

Children's Health seeks an Analytics Engineer III to lead analytics engineering at scale within complex healthcare domains. The role involves designing semantic and product solution architectures, embedding governance, and mentoring teams. The successful candidate will collaborate with operational stakeholders, product team members, and data stewards to deliver analytics products and analytics-ready data assets for clinical and operational domains across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create and structure datasets that are ready for analytics
  • Design and maintain semantic layers, metrics stores, and data marts
  • Apply data engineering best practices to analytics, including version control, CI/CD, and environment management
  • Collaborate with BI analysts, data scientists, and domain stakeholders to operationalize analytics products
  • Ensure alignment with governance standards and data quality requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum six years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or analytics platform roles with proven experience in semantic architecture, metrics stores, and production CI/CD
  • At least six years of deep expertise in metrics stores, semantic layer design, knowledge graph/ontology concepts, advanced SQL, Python, production orchestration, and platform experience (Snowflake, Databricks, MS Fabric) with BI tool optimization
  • Six years of experience embedding analytics and AI governance controls into architecture (logging, monitoring for drift, access controls, traceability) and collaboration with ARBs for regulated or AI-enabled analytics products
  • Six years of leadership and project management skills with a strategic vision for analytics engineering
  • Six years of strategic domain ownership, stakeholder influence, ability to articulate ROI and value, and experience mentoring/leading technical teams while representing analytics engineering in architecture and governance forums

Education

Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field is required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Analytics related certifications (for example, Dbt Analytics Engineering, Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Snowflake SnowPro, Databricks, Epic Cogito) or a learning plan to obtain missing certifications. If offered, the plan must be provided and relevant certifications must be obtained within 180 days of starting.
