Applied AI Engineer

Cognition AI is building enterprise capability around applied AI modernization, and the Applied AI Engineer role sits at the intersection of deployment, enablement, and measurable outcomes. In this remote position based in Sydney, FL, you will operationalize the rollout of Devin with engineering teams and help integrate agentic workflows across the places where it drives the most leverage.

As engagements scale, you will also help shape the function by converting customer work into repeatable playbooks, best practices, and enablement materials that extend beyond individual account successes.

What you’ll do

• Embed with enterprise engineering teams to drive deep, lasting adoption of Devin, owning outcomes beyond onboarding
• Architect and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product, identifying where AI can create the highest leverage
• Run interactive programs for enterprise teams, including live workshops and pair programming sessions
• Guide customers through installing, configuring, and optimizing Devin and associated tools (including DeepWiki and MCP integrations)
• Pair-program on live production problems to demonstrate high-value usage patterns and accelerate applied AI fluency
• Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics, surfacing ROI stories, and strengthening the business case to expand Devin’s footprint within accounts
• Partner with leadership to scale field learnings into structured playbooks and best practices that go beyond one-off engagements
• Create enablement materials, shared playbooks, and best practices based on customer learnings

What you’ll bring

• A degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience
• 3+ years in roles such as software engineering, technical consulting, deployment strategy, forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or similar, with strong coding proficiency (notably Python and JavaScript/TypeScript or comparable)
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences
• A track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact inside engineering organizations
• Strong commercial instincts, including the ability to operate with account growth in mind
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt exceptionally fast

Compensation

Estimated base salary: USD 180,000–225,000 per year. Offers equity.
