Applied AI Engineer II - Encore Program
Job Description
Join Deloitte's Encore Program in Dallas, onsite, to build and deliver high-visibility full‑stack products that blend GenAI and agentic capabilities in a client‑service environment focused on tangible business outcomes. You will participate in a role with a competitive salary range of USD 102,500 to 188,900 per year, plus a discretionary annual incentive program, within a culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and practical impact.
Responsibilities
- Outcome driven accountability: Own customer and business outcomes and the cost of achieving them. Design lean, high‑quality solutions and manage inference, token usage, and cloud costs for what you build.
- Technical leadership and advocacy: Serve as the technical advocate for products, ensuring code integrity, feasibility, and alignment with business goals. Contribute to requirements analysis, design, development, testing, integrations, and support.
- Engineering craftsmanship: Maintain code and design integrity, adhere to architecture, ensure quality and maintainability, and deliver scalable, well‑documented code. Be hands‑on, continuously learning, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Customer-centric engineering: Develop lean solutions through rapid, inexpensive experimentation. Engage with customers and product teams before, during, and after delivery to ensure the right solution is delivered at the right time.
- Incremental and iterative delivery: Embrace action and evidence over extensive planning, delivering lean, supportable, and maintainable solutions in the face of complexity and uncertainty.
- Cross-functional collaboration and integration: Work with product management, experience, and delivery teams. Integrate diverse perspectives to balance feasibility, viability, usability, and value, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Advanced technical proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in modern software engineering practices, including AI and agentic SDLC, delivering daily product deployments with full automation from discovery to production and operations, with quality checks throughout the lifecycle.
- Domain expertise: Rapidly acquire domain knowledge relevant to the business or product and translate needs into technical specifications and code. Be a flexible, quality‑driven teammate focused on reducing tech debt.
- Effective communication and influence: Clearly articulate complex technical concepts, influence teammates and product teams with evidence‑based trade‑offs, and build coherent narratives that tie technical solutions to business goals.
- Engagement and collaborative co‑creation: Engage with product engineering teams at all levels and with customers as needed. Build constructive relationships and drive consensus toward feasible, value‑driven solutions.

- 2+ years building AI/ML and agentic applications with hands‑on GenAI experience across LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open‑source models), RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, vector databases, evaluations, and AI agent orchestration.
- 2+ years of cloud‑native engineering using FaaS, PaaS, or microservices on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including AI/ML services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI) and application‑level infrastructure‑as‑code with cost awareness (FinOps).
- Experience with software engineering fundamentals and AI‑augmented, spec‑driven development, including Business Context Diagrams, and OOP/OOD, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with XP, Lean, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, MLflow, and agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangFuse, LangSmith) or similar multi‑agent orchestration tools.
