Location: Spartanburg, SC (hybrid) • Salary: USD 130,000 – 160,000 per year • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s in Data Science or Data Engineering (or related CS/software development); or Doctor of Pharmacy with data experience • Minimum experience: 2 years

Overview

The Clinical Data Scientist uses data to evaluate program effectiveness and to help develop clinical, financial, and operational programs for RedSail Technologies Network Services. This role supports measurement and decision making through rigorous data practices and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Data collection from diverse sources including databases, APIs, web scraping, and more, incorporating both structured and unstructured data.
  • Data cleaning to address missing values, duplicates, inconsistencies, and outliers to ensure high-quality datasets.
  • Exploratory data analysis to understand distributions, relationships, and patterns via visualization and statistics.
  • Data transformation to prepare analysis-ready formats, including normalization, standardization, and feature engineering.
  • Data visualization to communicate findings through graphs, charts, and dashboards using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Tableau.
  • Statistical analysis to test hypotheses and infer relationships, leveraging methods like t-tests, chi-square tests, ANOVA, and regression.
  • Data communication to present insights and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
  • Collaboration with domain experts to align data science work with business goals and ensure actionable results.
  • Ongoing learning to stay current with industry trends, tools, and methodologies in data science.
  • Ethical considerations and compliance, ensuring data usage adheres to privacy and regulatory standards such as HIPAA.

Requirements

  • Experience in pharma, pharmacy, or healthcare contexts.
  • Strong SQL scripting experience.
  • Experience using data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Ability to distill complex data across multiple platforms into concise, usable datasets.
  • Capacity to visualize data effectively for the needs of each project or study.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and curiosity.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teammates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail and robust critical thinking.
