Data Analyst
Job Description
The Data Analyst will support business decision-making by building reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that translate data into clear, actionable insight. The role blends reporting responsibilities with subject-matter understanding, and includes collaboration across multiple business units and teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage business intelligence solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and present data to support informed business decisions.
- Create and maintain user manuals, including design and requirements documentation.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify valuable objectives and KPIs, and to design relevant reports and dashboards.
- Identify development needs to streamline and improve organizational efficiencies.
- Identify process improvements and capabilities to increase consistency and reliability of business functions, and see improvements through to completion.
- Develop and maintain documentation for key business processes, supporting a disciplined approach to process adherence.
- Build dashboards and reports across multiple lines of business using PowerBi dashboards.
- Analyze historical and current data to identify trends, create dashboards with actionable insights, and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Collaborate with team members to help ensure data is relevant and accurate.
- Use internal business tools including Microsoft Excel, SAP, Ariba, PowerBI, Tableau, and IBM Cognos TM1 to support reporting and manage the status of project artifacts.
- Use query languages such as SQL, and scripting languages such as R and/or Python, to produce reports and perform quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing meaningful business concerns and inquiries.
- Coordinate and manage special projects, ensuring project deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Perform self and department-level reviews of reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Location and Work Model
- San Diego, California (hybrid)
- Candidate must currently reside in San Diego County, or be willing to relocate within 60 days of hire.
- Hybrid work model: 60% on-site and 40% remote.

This position reports to the Manager, Finance.
