Data Analyst
Job Description
The Data Analyst at FountainRx Specialty Pharmacy contributes to operational, clinical, and financial performance by turning data into actionable intelligence. This onsite role in Morristown, TN focuses primarily on specialty pharmacy operations, including reporting, revenue cycle analytics, and compliance-oriented data submissions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports and dashboards for internal leadership across specialty, compounding, and retail pharmacy operations, with specialty as the primary focus.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, accurate, and visually effective presentations for executive, operational, and clinical audiences.
- Develop and deliver standardized data packages for external stakeholders, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, hub organizations, and regulatory bodies, as required.
- Ensure reports are delivered accurately and on schedule, and proactively communicate delays or data quality concerns to the Director of Information Technologies.
- Analyze prescription volume, dispensing patterns, fill rates, and workflow throughput across specialty, compounding, and retail pharmacy lines.
- Identify operational trends and bottlenecks, and present improvement opportunities supported by data to appropriate stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on specialty-specific metrics such as adherence rates, refill patterns, time-to-fill, and patient retention.
- Support revenue cycle analytics, including claims submission rates, adjudication outcomes, denial trends, reimbursement performance, and payer mix.
- Prepare payer-facing data reports and analyses to support contracting, performance reviews, and reimbursement discussions.
- Identify claim rejection patterns and collaborate with revenue cycle and operations personnel to surface root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze inventory levels, purchasing patterns, drug utilization, and cost trends to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Provide data support for formulary management, purchasing negotiations, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Monitor and report on drug shortage impacts, substitution activity, and related supply chain metrics.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for clinical programs including the FountainRx Cares program and comparable specialty clinical initiatives.
- Compile and present patient outcome metrics, adherence data, disease state reporting, and quality benchmarks for internal clinical leadership and external manufacturer or program requirements.
- Assist in developing outcome measurement frameworks and reporting templates as clinical programs evolve.
- Prepare and deliver required data submissions to pharmaceutical manufacturers and hub organizations, including patient experience feedback, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) reporting, adherence metrics, and program performance data.
- Maintain accurate records of manufacturer and hub reporting obligations, schedules, and submission history.
- Act as a data point of contact for manufacturer and hub partners, responding to data requests in coordination with the Director of Information Technologies and relevant operational leadership.
- Support preparation of data for regulatory submissions, accreditation reviews, and compliance audits across specialty, compounding, and retail pharmacy operations.
- Ensure all data handling, storage, and transmission activities comply with HIPAA, applicable state law, and FountainRx data governance policies.
- Assist in maintaining data integrity standards and internal controls over reporting processes.
- Extract, clean, validate, and maintain data from pharmacy management systems, claims platforms, and other operational data sources.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Structured Query Language (SQL) to support data retrieval, transformation, and analysis; leverage business intelligence tools as available.
- Coordinate with the Director of Information Technologies and relevant vendors on data access, system integration, and reporting infrastructure needs.
- Complete other projects, activities, or responsibilities assigned by the Director of Information Technologies or their designee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Business, or a related field required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a data analysis or reporting role required; healthcare or pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL required; experience with pharmacy management systems and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
- Ability to collect, clean, analyze, and present complex data to varied audiences, including executive leadership and external partners.
- Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment, requiring extended periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer, keyboard, and monitor.
