Job Description

City of Hope offers a remote, full-time Data Analyst role focused on healthcare quality and safety. You will collaborate with Quality, Risk and Regulatory Management to translate healthcare data into actionable insights, developing reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs that drive quality and performance improvements. This position supports a data-driven, cross-disciplinary team and includes comprehensive benefits, alongside a competitive hourly compensation.

This is a remote, exempt role with an hourly rate of USD 40 to 63 per hour, suitable for a professional prepared to influence clinical and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and analytic models to back quality and performance initiatives.
  • Analyze complex healthcare data from multiple sources, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse and clinical systems.
  • Create and manage SQL objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, and advanced queries to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Track performance metrics, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to inform leadership decisions.
  • Collect and assess benchmarking data from Vizient, public reporting sites, and other industry resources.
  • Support quality improvement efforts through data analysis, statistical evaluation, and performance measurement.
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, quality teams, and operational stakeholders to communicate findings and suggest improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance databases and reporting systems related to quality, risk, regulatory, and patient safety.
  • Engage in data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data initiatives.
  • Apply Lean methodologies and performance improvement tools to optimize processes and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3 to 5 years of analytics, reporting, healthcare data, or business intelligence experience.
  • Experience with relational databases and advanced SQL development, including tables, views, stored procedures, and query design.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of creating dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights to clinical and operational audiences.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, quality metrics, medical terminology, and healthcare data preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar analytics platforms.
  • CPHQ and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
