Data Analyst/Instructor

JANSON is seeking a Data Analyst and Instructor to support a Department of Defense initiative operating in Germany, delivering data literacy training and analytics visualizations, along with multimedia training materials. The role centers on turning data into accessible insights and practical training assets for a diverse audience, with onsite collaboration in Fairfax, Virginia.

Role overview

In this position, you will train staff on analytics tools as part of a data literacy program, develop a structured data literacy curriculum, and teach the fundamentals of data literacy to understand processes and statuses. You will collaborate with internal teams to learn how tools and visualizations are used, create concise visualizations that illuminate complex relationships, and apply multimedia production skills to produce training content such as video, audio, and presentations. You will also design and edit multimedia materials and guide scenario development and exercises aimed at reducing risk and improving readiness in areas like emergency preparedness and disaster response.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff training on analytics tools as part of the data literacy initiative.
• Design and implement a comprehensive data literacy training program.
• Instruct staff and personnel on the basics of data literacy and how data informs process understanding and status assessment.
• Work with internal teams to learn how configured tools and visualizations are used across the organization.
• Develop visualizations that succinctly express intricate relationships.
• Leverage multimedia skills, including videography, to produce training materials for target audiences.
• Create and edit multimedia content, such as video, audio, and presentation materials.
• Train users in the operation of internally configured tools and visualizations.
• Plan and develop training scenarios and exercises to reduce risk and enhance readiness.
• Develop scenarios focused on risk reduction and readiness improvement in areas of emergency preparedness and disaster risk, and analyze plausible hypothetical situations to illustrate potential impacts and guide effective responses.

Requirements

• Eleven (11) years of recent specialized experience.
• A major IT certification combined with seven (7) years of recent specialized experience.
• An Associate’s degree in computer science, information management, or a related discipline with seven (7) years of recent specialized experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or a related discipline with three (3) years of recent specialized experience.
• IA Technical Level II certification or higher, including one or more of the following: CCNA-Security, CompTIA CySA+, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), CompTIA Security+ CE, EC-Council Certified Network Defense (CND), (ISC)² Certified System Security Practitioner (SSCP).
• IAT Level II or higher (Required).
• Secret clearance (Required).
