Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, BI Engineering within Tech Services, the Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains scalable data infrastructure and analytics solutions. The role acts as a subject matter expert and data steward, collaborating across functions to uphold governance and data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable reporting solutions that support analytics needs across all business units.
  • Assemble and integrate complex datasets that satisfy both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Maintain and optimize existing reports, dashboards, and data pipelines to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Serve as a companywide subject matter expert for enterprise analytics.
  • Apply and monitor data governance standards across all systems and processes.
  • Monitor and support change management controls in alignment with internal audit and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to and resolve system tickets submitted by end users, including break/fix support and root-cause analysis.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to data workflows, processes, and infrastructure to enhance reliability, efficiency, and data quality.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and foster strong working relationships.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and data findings to stakeholders clearly.
  • Educate team members and end users as needed on analytics systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, analytics, or a related quantitative field; equivalent professional experience (5+ years) will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience in a Data Engineer or equivalent technical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with BI visualization platforms such as Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles, access control frameworks, and change management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools and Power Platform.
  • Experience using Microsoft Fabric with emphasis on Lakehouse development.
