Job Description

CGI Federal seeks a Data Engineer onsite in Seattle, WA to enhance human machine collaboration and deliver data driven strategies that improve performance across Air Force missions, with work located at Joint Base Lewis McChord. The position offers a salary range of USD 62,900 to 153,300 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the collection, normalization, and standardized analysis of data assets across multiple projects and platforms, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Design, maintain, evaluate, and test data solutions throughout the organization.
  • Develop and implement governance plans, policies, and practices to protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of data assets and programs.
  • Ingest, store, process, and analyze raw and complex data from diverse sources; recommend practical data applications; select and design optimal data solutions; build data processing systems using data warehousing expertise and modern database technologies.
  • Maintain and monitor data quality within the architecture used across the enterprise; report results and propose system changes to improve data quality across applications.
  • Investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, correct errors, and develop prototypes and process improvement plans across programs, including proofs of concept for chosen solutions.
  • Transform unstructured data into analysis-ready formats and conduct analyses; integrate algorithms into the organization’s data systems in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Deliver complex data projects focused on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets to generate insights across multiple platforms.
  • Define hardware and software design needs and execute decisions accordingly to support data initiatives.
  • Serve as a data subject matter expert, partnering with business owners or external clients to define analysis plans and deliver reporting results and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
  • Experience collecting, compiling, normalizing, and performing standard analyses across diverse data platforms.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, evaluating, and testing data solutions.
  • Proficiency in building data pipelines that collect, store, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and database technologies.
  • Ability to design, implement, and manage complex data processing projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to generate insights, operational reports, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and act as a data subject matter expert.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex analytical findings to varied audiences.
  • Outstanding problem solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative, mission focused environment.
  • Experience working with the Air Force.
  • Familiarity with medical data and HIPPA requirements.
  • Understanding of data governance, data protection, and data management policies.
  • Experience developing prototypes, process improvement plans, and proofs of concept solutions.
  • Skilled at integrating algorithms and innovations into operational data systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software decision making for data architecture needs.
  • Ability to assess and improve data quality and investigate root causes of issues.
