Job Description

Join a mission-driven team at Arlington Community Federal Credit Union and help power dependable data for enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and future AI initiatives. This onsite role in Falls Church, VA focuses on building scalable infrastructure and production-grade pipelines, with a clear emphasis on data quality and data governance so downstream consumers can trust what they use.

What you’ll be doing

In this Data Engineering position, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure, integration processes, and production-ready data pipelines. You’ll help support enterprise reporting and advanced analytics, while strengthening modern data platform capabilities intended to support future AI use cases.

A core part of the work is delivering data that is not only available, but also well-governed. You’ll focus on reliable delivery to downstream consumers by applying strong data quality practices and governance throughout the pipeline lifecycle.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure, integration processes, and production-grade data pipelines.
  • Support enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and future AI use cases while evolving modern data platform capabilities.
  • Deliver reliable, well-governed data to downstream consumers with an emphasis on data quality and governance.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible data engineering experience, including designing and supporting scalable data pipelines, transformation workflows, and modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong Python and SQL proficiency required.
  • Experience with Apache Spark and other data ingestion and orchestration tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks and cloud-based data platforms; Databricks strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of data integration patterns, batch and near-real-time processing, change data capture, and data quality controls.
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks, including access controls, lineage tracking, validation, and monitoring practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, storage, and deployment concepts. Platform-specific certification (for example, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate) is a plus.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit union environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner with analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams.

Salary: USD 105,466 - 124,078 per year
