Job Description

Vaco by Highspring is hiring a Data Engineer for a 12-month contract in Brentwood, TN (hybrid). This role focuses on building ETL/ELT pipelines, supporting data warehouse solutions, governing data products, and improving data quality to enable reporting, automation, analytics, and AI-driven use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and production data pipelines
  • Develop and support data warehouse solutions and curated datasets
  • Integrate data from multiple source systems
  • Prepare data for reporting, analytics, automation, applications, and AI-driven use cases
  • Perform data acquisition, cleansing, parsing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
  • Support data governance activities, including lineage, documentation, testing, and change management
  • Create and maintain data models aligned with business and reporting needs
  • Monitor and improve data quality across platforms and processes
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and data standards

Requirements

  • Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Teradata Protocol Transport (TPT)
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS
  • Hands-on experience with Python
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data services
  • Experience with data acquisition, cleansing, parsing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
  • Experience integrating data from multiple source systems
  • Experience preparing data for reporting, analytics, automation, applications, and AI-related initiatives
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data structures, and data modeling
  • Experience building curated datasets and governed data products
  • Experience with one or more database platforms, including: Google BigQuery, Teradata Vantage, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other enterprise DBMS platforms
  • Experience with data analysis and data visualization
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, lineage, documentation, testing, and change management practices
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts with both technical and non-technical audiences
