Data Engineer Associate
Job Description
The Data Engineer Associate will design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines across core systems and CRMs, providing reporting support through Power BI and Looker. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and owns the application lifecycle, while staying current with new tools and technologies.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the data science team to design, implement, and maintain data integrations across core systems, including SFTP exchanges, while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Monitor the health of data integrations; diagnose and remediate synchronization errors, failed data loads, and data mismatches.
- Build and maintain automated workflows using Power Automate.
- Document integration workflows and data processes; establish best practices for system architecture and data management.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Power BI dashboards and Looker extracts used in KPI and payer analytics reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, define data and reporting needs, and ensure solutions align with organizational goals and operational workflows.
Requirements
- Strong Python fundamentals essential for building and maintaining API integrations, transforming data between systems, and automating recurring data pulls.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in information technology, data analytics, technical support, systems administration, or a comparable technical role will be considered.
- Proficiency in SQL querying and data manipulation, including subqueries, window functions, analytic functions, and regular expressions (preferred).
- Familiarity with data integration tools and methods (REST APIs, SFTP, ETL scripting) connecting disparate systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot data issues across integrated systems.
- Solid understanding of data management principles and ETL processes.
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation for data integration workflows and processes.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while seeking clarification to fully understand context and the business question, and how the answer will impact outcomes.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in information technology, data analytics, technical support, systems administration, or a related technical role.
