PNC Financial Services Group invites you to join the Asset Management Group as a Data Engineer Associate. This onsite role in Farmers Branch, TX offers a salary range of USD 45,000 - 142,250 per year and the opportunity to work with PySpark, Hadoop, and SQL to build robust data pipelines, support ingestion and transformation, and uphold data governance across multiple applications. This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, supporting and implementing data solutions for multiple applications to meet business objectives and user requirements, drawing on technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.
  • Perform data requirement analysis and develop the data preparation process for targeted data solutions.
  • Assist in designing and building data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms, aligned with the workflow.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of data solutions for multiple applications to ensure scalability, availability and maintainability.
  • Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure the accuracy and security of data solutions.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with PySpark and Hadoop ecosystems, including developing and maintaining data pipelines using Spark, Hive, and HDFS.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to understand business logic, write optimized queries, and work with large analytical datasets in Hive/Impala.
  • Experience building and supporting data ingestion and transformation pipelines, including source to target mappings, data validation, and quality checks.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery models, collaborating within cross-functional teams (developers, analysts, QA, product owners) and participating in sprint-based development and releases.
  • Working knowledge of data governance and tooling, such as metadata management (eg, Alation), documentation standards, and controlled promotion of data to production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree is required and at least two years of relevant experience.
