Data Engineer - AWS

Deloitte is recruiting a Data Engineer III for the AI & Data team to support technology-focused delivery across complex client engagements. In this AWS-centered role, you will contribute to requirements, design, planning, and ongoing stakeholder communication as part of end-to-end data engineering work.

What you will do

• Deliver client engagements focused on AWS-based data engineering and delivery.
• Own day-to-day interactions with client stakeholders and sponsors, serving as the primary technical point of contact for your workstreams.
• Lead teams through business requirements gathering, functional design, process mapping, and support-model definition, providing technical direction throughout.
• Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and resource plans for your workstream, and adjust as engagement needs evolve.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with client stakeholders and internal engagement leadership.

• 8+ years relevant technology consulting experience in cloud modernization, data engineering, and business intelligence.
• 3+ years of AWS-based data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and operational data stores.
• 3+ years with AWS data services including AWS Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, or Step Functions.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• 2+ years leading, managing, and delivering workstreams or small teams with complex technical engagements with resources in multiple locations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
