Job Description

Tyson Foods is looking for a Data Engineer I in Springdale, AR (onsite) to help strengthen inventory optimization through cleaner, more reliable enterprise data. In this role, you will support inventory, asset, and operational information across EAM, EIM, and MRO processes, while partnering with business and IT teams to improve reporting and application support.

What you’ll do

  • Support inventory, asset, and operational data management across EAM, EIM, and MRO business processes.
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, correction, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain master data records in SAP and connected systems in line with established standards.
  • Help business users with reporting, system questions, issue resolution, and application support.
  • Participate in inventory optimization efforts, including data quality, governance, analytics, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Document business processes, system configurations, standards, and procedures to improve consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Support dashboard creation and report development, including analysis that informs operational and financial decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to complete projects, support day-to-day operations, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Build practical understanding of data, systems, and business needs across Finance, Operations, Maintenance, Engineer, and IT to support inventory optimization.
  • Contribute to a culture centered on collaboration, continuous learning, and improvement through curiosity, clear communication, and dependable execution.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience; college projects will be considered.
  • Above-standard computer skills.
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn SAP S/4HANA and the business processes behind it is essential.
  • Foundational data handling skills such as advanced Excel, introductory SQL, or exposure to Python, plus genuine interest in analytics platforms including Power BI, Palantir, or Tableau.
  • AI platform exposure is preferred.
  • Interest in manufacturing, supply chain, or asset-intensive environments, with a desire to understand how fixed assets, direct materials, and spare parts influence cost, cash, and capital decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, disciplined follow-through, and judgment to escalate issues early rather than assume.

  • Travel to manufacturing sites and project locations as needed up to 50% of the year.
