Data Scientist

Paragon Cyber Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to support a Government intelligence mission by building analytics and predictive capabilities for intelligence decision makers.

Responsibilities

• Apply mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related scientific techniques to transform complex technical work into graphical, written, visual, and verbal products
• Detect trends within intelligence data and incorporate additional Intelligence Community (IC) data sources
• Develop and apply machine learning, data mining, and prediction algorithms using open-source capabilities
• Integrate or code algorithms supporting Government intelligence search and discovery missions
• Recommend best practices for data management across hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth limitations
• Use data science methods for predictive analysis, social media and crowd-sourced analytics, wargaming, and strategy development
• Conduct exploratory analysis and rapid iteration on large data volumes to produce intelligence quickly
• Prepare deliverables that document findings and activities for stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, with four (4) years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and modeling
• Experience building and applying machine learning models using open-source tools such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch (or similar)
• Experience with data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling
• Proven ability to analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends and produce findings
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI (or similar)
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL database systems
• Familiarity with cloud computing and data management within storage and bandwidth constraints
• Experience using version control systems such as Git
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical findings in written, visual, and verbal formats for non-technical stakeholders
