Data Scientist & 365 Developer

The Data Scientist & 365 Developer supports the U.S. Army by building and modernizing Army applications, integrating AI enabled analytics and Army Vantage into workflows, and governing data across enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and sustain Army applications for a broad set of mission stakeholders.
• Integrate AI enabled analytics and Army Vantage capabilities into applications and workflows to drive digital modernization, automate processes, generate insights, and support data driven decisions.
• Conduct verification and validation testing, deliver updates and enhancements, and manage a ticketing system to resolve user issues quickly and keep applications mission ready.
• Perform advanced data mining to aggregate, transform, and analyze large datasets; summarize information, identify correlations, cluster data, and detect anomalies that inform operational decisions.
• Carry out data preprocessing to prepare datasets for analysis or integration, including handling missing values, removing duplicates, and standardizing formats for consistency and usability.
• Explore systems and Army platforms such as Vantage to identify opportunities for improved analytics, visualization, and enterprise data integration in support of CPE programs.
• Develop, update, and maintain Army 365 SharePoint sites, lists, and document libraries in both unclassified and classified environments to support enterprise data management.
• Manage user permissions across SharePoint, Qlik, and Power Apps to maintain secure, appropriate access.
• Maintain and update template files that capture key data elements across 18 core capability areas and ensure alignment with Power Apps and other enterprise tools.
• Strengthen data governance, refine portfolio definitions, data dictionaries, and glossaries to ensure consistent terminology and structure across Army systems and analytical platforms.
• Enhance the Army's digital ecosystem by improving data quality, enabling AI supported insights, and delivering reliable tools that empower mission partners to act with confidence.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or data mining
• 2+ years of experience with statistical or general purpose programming languages for data analysis
• Experience with Army data platforms, including Vantage
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
• Experience developing predictive models, quantitative analyses, or visualization of mission relevant datasets
• Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, text mining techniques, or applying AI assisted analytics such as generative AI or LLMs to enhance workflows
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, the individual's education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation.
