Job Description

PNC’s Data & Automation organization is seeking a Data Scientist to support AI governance operations, analytics, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage governance forum operations, including agenda creation, meeting preparation, decision tracking, action item follow-up, and documentation management.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Ethics, HR, Risk, and Technology using relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Support annual Responsible AI reporting activities, including program innovation and intellectual property tracking.
  • Work in a highly visible capacity with output reviewed by senior leadership and contributions to the program’s official audit trail and governance record.
  • Perform analytics on structured and unstructured data to identify actionable business insights.
  • Contribute to data gathering, data processing, and data mining for large and complex datasets.
  • Develop algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques such as machine learning to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions to management.
  • Run analytical experiments methodically to uncover opportunities for product and process optimization.
  • Present business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling.
  • May partner with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Visualization Experts to build data-driven solutions for the business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Proficiency in Python, with Tableau and Power BI preferred.
  • Experience aligned to AI Risk Management.
  • Analytical thinking and data-focused capabilities across:
    • Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Data Mining, Data Science, Machine Learning (ML).
    • Data Architecture, Disruptive Innovation, Information Capture.
    • Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects.
    • Prototyping and Query/Database access tools.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • No required certifications and no required licenses specified.
  • No required or preferred language assessments specified.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Location and Work Model

  • Onsite role based in Pittsburgh, PA

Compensation

  • Base salary: USD 86,250 – 158,125 per year
  • Salaries may vary by geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education
  • Role is incentive eligible; payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance
