Data Scientist Senior

Bow Wave LLC is hiring a Senior Data Scientist for an onsite role in Arlington, VA. The position supports work at the intersection of custom AI training and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a focus on turning unstructured data into insights teams can use. Compensation for this role is $155,000 to $163,000 per year.

What you’ll do

You will apply advanced approaches to custom AI training across supervised and unsupervised settings, with direct emphasis on NLP use cases involving unstructured data. Your work will involve working with unstructured information coming from multiple platforms, preparing it for analysis, and using visualization tools to communicate findings.

In this role, you’ll also leverage strong skills in at least one analytical or statistical language to model and analyze data, and you’ll use data visualization capabilities (including graph-focused tooling where applicable) to support stakeholders with clear, usable outputs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in custom AI training, including supervised and unsupervised, with NLP expertise focused on unstructured data
• 5+ years of in-depth knowledge of at least one analytical or statistical language: Closure, Scala, Python, or R
• 2+ years of experience manipulating unstructured data from different platforms
• 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Elastic X-Pack (including Graph), Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
• B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
