Job Description

The Data Scientist - Workforce Analytics role supports the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) office by building workforce oversight and compliance capabilities through data science and analytics. The position focuses on workforce demographic analytics, reporting, and visualization using HRIS and business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary and secondary data collection and analysis, interpreting analytic results and producing vetted recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Use and develop HRIS and business intelligence queries, with hands-on development in Python, R, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Partner with EEO staff to deliver demographic-related workforce analytics for organizational oversight and federal reporting.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and employee sentiment to identify and report triggers and barriers to equal employment opportunities.
  • Communicate findings through visual and written outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences across all organizational levels.
  • Support annual, quarterly, and ad hoc internal and external reporting by preparing briefings and strategic staff materials.
  • Contribute to internal and external working groups and meetings related to workforce demographic data topics and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in social science or workforce analytics-related fields.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics, including ANOVA, t-tests, and regression modeling.
  • Ability to extract and synthesize complex information to prepare briefings, read-aheads, and presentations with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience and proficiency with data science and visualization tools, predominantly Tableau, along with Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience using human capital data related to promotion, attrition rates, and internal churn within an EEO context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject matter expertise in quantitative and qualitative human capital research, with an advanced degree in a quantitative field.
  • Advanced coding proficiency, including SQL for database management.
  • Self-starter with experience engaging senior-level directors and executive leadership to drive organizational change.

Clearance Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a copier, scanner, and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may include delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information during these interactions.
